Welcome to Brid-Cruise.co.uk
Brid-Cruise was formed in January 2005 by friends interested in cars. It grew in
its first year attracting interest from around the area with local meets and
other sites visiting.
One of the founders left the admin team and a change
of staff came in. This started the basis of the site you now know!
Brid-Cruise then started to explore launching itself in to a known car
enthusiast website with a cruise in the town, mixing with the bigger site to
each side of the town. Scarborough Cruise and Hull Cruise. At a cruise known as
HSBC, the marking was in the town that BC was on the up!
Members
attended local shows then came the chance to show their cars on a club stand.
This went down very well and soon it became apparent that people were interested
in going to the national shows. The local interest was high. After a lot of
travelling, BC became friends with a site based in Gloucestershire. A small
group from the town attended Ultimate Street Car Show at Santapod with them and
although the cost was high, the weekend of fun showed some Brid members that
there was alot more to be seen at national shows.
The following show
season saw BC move to attending national shows. We took a stand to Donny Show at
Donington Racetrack. It was the 1st time we had all been together for a weekend.
The show made a big impact on members and we followed it up with going to
Modified Nationals a month later. The show season continued and we decided on
trying a bigger cruise in the summer. This was a great success, using the
contacts made and the reputation of the site spread around the north of England.
Attendences at Yorkshire Modified Show, Hull Motor Show and Trax rounded off the
year, but not before closing the season with a trip to Donny Custom Car Show.
2008 Changed Brid-Cruise. The site grew up and matured. Donny show was named
ISTS and again we visited. Then came the turning point. A few members within the
site decided they wanted a car club. They left BC to form their own national car
club. Taking along a few members and staff to create this. A war of words was
settled when BC continued to show at national events with no sign of the new
club. BC came through the mist and with mature members, we altered the name
slightly to be known as Bridlington-Cruise. Where as the name may have changed,
the site continued to run together. We attended YMS, meeting the new club who
parked across from us. We then visited Hull Motor Show and was the last time we
met the new club. By the time we had attended Trax, the new club had fallen
apart and Bridlington members returned to the site. This showed that at the end
of the day - we are all still mates and thats how this site is.
We go out and make friends, we keep friends and no matter what, we stick
together. We are always looking for new members, new friends and people who
share our interests.
